  1. Make the "timesheet entry table" taller, to see more tasks at the same time.

The area used to actually enter time is tall enough to display only 14 lines, including project names. If you are working on 5 projects, this leaves only 9 tasks visible at the same time. That's not enough to view all the tasks I'm working on in any given week.

On the other hand, there's lots of unused white space above this area (the "Dovico" bar, the white space below the menu bar, and the "My Assignments / My Timesheet" bar. I took a screenshot and annotated it, if you are interested.

  3. An Indicator showing that a previous week(s) was not summited

Every week I submit my hours but once is a great while the new week hour collection starts and the previous week, which was not submitted is hidden. A little indicator somewhere in the header showing the user that there are unsubmitted previous week(s).

  4. Improvement to Jira integration

We're using the Jira integration and so far we really like it. One problem we have is that there is no way to associate a Dovico project with a Jira project. I am aware that the Dovico integration remembers which Dovico project you've previously selected (via cookie I assume), but this sometimes fails if you or someone in the team by accident selects the wrong project.
In that case the Dovico integration then remembers the wrong project and team members don't realize they're now logging their time against the wrong Dovico project. This means that on quite a few occasions we now have time entries from Jira project A against Dovico project B instead of Dovico project A.

We work in an agency setting where we have 30+ Jira projects at any one time and this is quite a high priority for us since we don't have the resources to double check that all time entries have been made against the correct Dovico projects.

The cursor should not jump back to the first item when entering time. I should be able to tab through the options while making changes.

If I type in the job and hit tab then select my option for the next item it jumps back to the first item. I should be able to tab through all of the options, make changes where necessary and then save. All using the keyboard.

  6. Horizontal page slitter

    Very annoying split panel.

It take time to properly point the cursor in order to hover on the horizontal splitter.

Please fix this and make the hover area larger, as it is very unfriendly ux experience.

Popup window for submitting hours is too small and the bottom buttons are hidden, I need to expand it each time to submit hours, it's a bug, it wasn't like that few months back. I'm using Chrome on Mac.

  11. Project Summary view: add link to Project Settings

It would be great if there was a way to enter project settings from the project summary page.

Currently there is no option to navigate to the Project Settings directly from the Project Summary. Instead I have to exit the Project Summary page and click on the Edit button next to my project in the list to enter the Project Settings page.

Makes for some unnecessary going back and forth between the project summary and its settings.

  12. Set Project Alerts on tasks

Currently, it's only possible to set a project alert against the total hours or % of the project, but it would be more useful if I could set an alert against a task.

    My use case:
Our team often overruns heavily on one task, but will spend less time than estimated on another. When I set a project alert based on hours/% spent against the entire project I don't catch the task that is overrunning until it has overrun so much that it's using up almost all estimated project hours (across all tasks).

This means that after the overrunning task is completed we don't have any estimated time left for the remaining tasks and will definitely be overspending on the project.

To give a concrete example, consider this scenario:

    Task A - estimated 5h, actual 3h
    Task B - estimated 15h, actual 20h
    Task C - estimated 5h, not started

    Total estimated: 25h
    Total actuals: 23h

If I have set an alert for 90% of hours spent, at this point I would receive a project alert notifying me that we have gone over that threshold and have 2 estimated hours left, but still at least 5 hours to complete the project - ergo, we will run over by 3h and there's nothing I can do at that point.

What I would rather know is when we are getting close to the total estimated hours of a task, instead of the entire project. In that case I would catch the Task B risk at, say, 75% of the task's estimated hours, not at 133%.

It's still useful to have the alert option for the entire project, but it doesn't cover risk management very well.

Currently, it's only possible to set a project alert against the total hours or % of the project, but it would be more useful if I could set an alert against a task.

  13. Send out a newsletter to Dovico admins

It would be great if you were to send out a monthly newsletter to Dovico admins where you highlight:

    • new releases

    • new features

    • tips & tricks

    • best practice examples

    • featured suggestions with a prompt to vote on suggestions

Either all of these or a selection each month would be great.

For example I didn't know that I could vote on feedback from other users, but I'm sure this would be great for Dovico in terms of roadmapping and prioritizing your next features.

It's also a nice touch because for us as admin users it feels like we're all working together to make the product better. I think the Microsoft Teams product team does a stellar job at that and users have been happier with Teams than with other MS products when you look at feedback sentiments across the web.

  14. Chrome login fails on iPad pro

Hi. I cannot login on a new iPad Pro using Chrome. The login screen remembers my company and username, but when I enter my password and hit “login” the password field goes blank and nothing happens. No error message. I’ve seen this before with a banking site and it has always pointed back to the browser. Please advise.

  15. Add the ability to enter the amount of time off required in the Time Off Application

Currently in the time off app there is only the ability to either have a half day or a full day.

There are times that only 2 hours are needed or times that are not in the 4 or 8 hour time window.

The ability to add the amount of time taken off or even have a field on the screen that can be modified for how much time off is going to be taken for that day.

  16. Maybe add a way to enter your email, and get your username and password. In case you forgot both?

    Here's a thought.

When I want to have my password and username provided to me, because I forgot it, perhaps allow me to retrieve said credentials using the associated email address, rather than only having an option for password recovery.

Seriously, shouldn't have to communicate with someone in the office, every time I forget something.

  17. Mobile App Update - Start Day

Sync the mobile app with the online version weekly start dates. We start our week on Saturday, not Sunday. 100% of our employees would use this. Everything else syncs (projects, etc) why not the actual work week? This makes the mobile application useless for our employees.

  18. Filter out unused projects

Entered on behalf of a client.

    Dear support team,

As a suggestion for a future update of the DOVICO timesheet (desktop/website application):

When I am in the ‘Time Calendar section’ and I need to add/update entries there, then there is a box at the bottom for doing that. The first item in that box is called ‘ Project’. This opens a drop-down menu on the right with ALL projects from present and past. That is not efficient, especially if those past projects have been listed as ‘finished’ (end-date is also already in the past) and ‘flag for archive’. They are not relevant for entry of new data in this Calendar section anymore. The result of the current situation is that the ‘Project’-list becomes very long and it takes extra effort (the lay-out of the drop-down is also not very appealing) to find the right project.

    My improvement suggestion is:

The project-list in the drop-down menu ONLY shows current projects, meaning projects which are ‘active’ or ‘estimate’ and within the start-date and end-date boundaries. All past projects/finished projects should not appear anymore.
The drop-down menu has some alternate colouring, so you see more quickly which project you need. Now everything is uniform and compressed.

I hope you can take this into consideration.

    Best regards

    Roy
