I checked our Mobile App roadmaps and unfortunately, this functionality will not make it into the next build (the next release is scheduled for end of Jan), but will be considered for a future build.

    Great News,

We have added this to the GET Filter Query Strings.

    https://www.dovico.com/developer/API_doc/#t=Filter_Query_String.html

*Created (Assignments, Clients, Employees, ExpenseCategories, ExpenseEntries, Projects, Tasks, Teams, and TimeEntries)
    A date/time value in the format: yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss

*Modified (Assignments, Clients, Employees, ExpenseCategories, ExpenseEntries, Projects, Tasks, Teams, and TimeEntries)
    A date/time value in the format: yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss

The Property and Value are separated by one of the following logical operators:
    • eq (equals)
    • ne (not equal)
    • gt (greater than)
    • ge (greater than or equal to)
    • lt (less than)
    • le (less than or equal to)

Unfortunately Alexander, we have no plans to add this functionality to the API at this time. However; the API team are always re-evaluating the API roadmap and should they decide to add this functionality then I will gladly advise you through this suggestion. Thank you for asking about an update.

AdminMartin (Special Projects, Dovico.com) commented  ·

    Thank you for your suggestion.

Unfortunately Dovico Timesheet does not have a 'Modification Date' or 'Create On Date' within the database that the API could reference in order to create these calls and/or additional filters.

We have however noted this as a suggestion to the product manager as a possible future modification to Dovico Timesheet so that these types of calls/filters could be created.

Thank you for your suggestion Phil. This is something we have heard from other clients as well so it is on our radar. However, at this point, this is not in the upcoming scheduled modifications for the two Dovico Mobile Apps. But, it will be considered in the future. Meantime, if you haven't already, you may wish to try the two apps that focus solely on this type of functionality. Robert, the URI that returns a list of all assignments that have that requested Employee assigned maybe of use. Here is some information on it: http://apideveloper.dovico.com/Assignment#Get%20all%20assignments%20that%20have%20the%20requested%20Employee%20assigned

Just reviewing your suggestion and want to make sure I understand. Do you mean one of the separate Apps (from here: http://apps.dovico.com/) or are you referring to the reporting capability of Dovico Timesheet specifically?

Neil, I tested here and the API seems to be responding properly for me with those URI's? So I think I need to investigate further on a more specific nature. Please send me an e-mail to mjohnson@dovico.com

In this e-mail please include your Data Access Token for Apps (or Data Access Token) from your database as this will allow me to try to imitate your actual API calls.

AdminMartin (Special Projects, Dovico.com) commented  ·

It looks like the API call you are using for getting the Time Entries associated with the Project may be incorrect. Please try this one: https://api.dovico.com/TimeEntries/Project/{ProjectID}/?version=5

Awesome Neil, I will make sure the API team are aware of the 'company cost' child task node suggestion. :)

Thanks Neil for your comment and suggestion. The API team have thought about this functionality but as of yet, no plans are on the table to bring this into the API. Thanks for your suggestion Chris. I have sent the limited access suggestion to our API team for further consideration. I also forwarded your second suggestion about team notifications to the product manager in charge of Dovico Timesheet for his review.

For repetitive timesheet entry you may find this 'Copy my Timesheet' App useful. http://apps.dovico.com/copy-my-timesheet/

Unfortunately, it's only applicable to customers using our hosted timesheet solution - Please check with your company administrator if you are unsure if your company is using this or not.

We have added a Statistical Call for the project that would provide the Actual Company Costs for a Project. This is available here: http://apideveloper.dovico.com/Projects#Get%20Project%20Statistics

Great idea. Not sure if you have seen our Status Viewer App or not? As we do have an App that allows our hosted clients to be able to see the status for an individual employee. I realize this is an individual only and not as in depth as your suggestion, but it may be of help to you while product management ponders your suggestion. http://apps.dovico.com/time-entry-status-viewer/

All you have to do to fix the issue is surround the following web address with double quotes. (“https://api.dovico.com/TimeEntries/?daterange=2013-01-01%202013-01-31&version=2”)

    Trevor,

This is not on any development schedules as of yet. This being said, I just spoke to support to see if there was anything that could be done. A couple of thoughts came to mind during our discussion:

1 - You could utilize Task Groups. This probably means a change in your existing project architecture, and you may want to talk to our support department before modifying your existing projects. But it could be used for new projects. By having your tasks in a Task Group, you can add a new task to the group and then apply this to your existing assignments via the More Button.

2 - If your company is using the Dovico Hosted Services, then you could use our Rest API (http://apideveloper.dovico.com) to create a small App that allows you to modify all the assisgnments based upon a chosen task.

    Hope that helps a bit...

AdminMartin (Special Projects, Dovico.com) commented  ·

Trevor, I have contacted our support department to see if they have any workarounds for your suggestion. Although your idea of an automatic assignment option for a new task is one approach; another approach that might help but be a little less direct would be; if the Quick Assign view showed the current assignments (dynamically) so that you don't need to run the assignment report (before or during any assignment changes). This second option may benefit companies looking to edit existing assignments as well.

Our software does allow this once the person is logged in (under Timesheet view, Options Tab) but your idea may be related to the Login Page so I am leaving this suggestion in the system to allow other people to comment or vote on it.

Can you please advise which directory you are referring too (ex. Project Assignments Tab in the 'Employees and Projects / Project Assignments view')? Thanks.

Thus far, you can't enter time for an employee. However we do have a Submit Time App that allows you to Submit Time , change the date of a time entry (submitted or not) and also change the Project/Task assignment on the employee's behalf. Unfortunately this must be done on an individual time entry basis, but the actual editing is very fast.

This new App utilizes our Rest API (which means it's only applicable to companies that are using our hosted service). It is written in Java and you may freely modify this to work with your particular needs/situation. Information on this app and other open source projects are available in our open source repository on GitHub : https://github.com/dovicoapi

If you already have Java installed (if not, here is a link http://www.java.com/en/) and are indeed using our hosted software, then you may download and run this application directly from this location: https://github.com/downloads/dovicoapi/SubmitEmployeeTime/SubmitEmployeeTime.zip
